    The High School Academy (HSA) is an innovative re-engagement program providing accelerated learning for students ages 16 through 20, who have dropped out of high school. HSA is offered in partnership with the Columbia, Finley, Kennewick, Pasco and Richland school districts.

  • Re-Engagement for Ages 16-21

    The Soar to Success (Open Doors) program is a re-engagement program for students between the ages of 16 and 21. Local school districts and Columbia Basin College collaborate to identify the best pathway for referred students to complete their high school diploma or equivalency and transition to their next goal, whether that is employment or further education.

  • The CBC High School Completion (HSC) program helps students restart their education and earn their high school diploma through college courses. Students enroll in college courses to complete the credit requirements for a high school diploma, earning college and high school credit at the same time.

  • The Washington Youth ChalleNGe Academy combines a quasi-military training approach with supportive mentoring relationships ensuring the intervention we provide has a long-term impact. The program improves life skills, education level and employment potential providing at-risk youth every opportunity to become responsible and productive citizens. The Washington Youth ChalleNGe Academy is a state-run residential and post-residential intervention for youth who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of dropping out. The program incorporates a highly-structured format with an emphasis on student discipline and personal responsibility to provide a positive, safe and secure learning environment.

  • GED Program For Migrant students Ages 16-21

    CBC’s High School Equivalency Program (HEP) helps close the educational gap experienced by migrating families. The program provides migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their children with an intensive study program to earn their GED and continue on to college or employment.

  • STEM-Focused Learning for Grades 9-12

    Delta High School Website

    Delta High School is a small school option focused on the elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The school is located in Pasco and students living in the Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco School Districts are eligible to apply. The elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are woven into every subject at Delta High School. The study of English Language Arts and Social Studies are integrated with STEM subjects. Students incorporate their learning and engage in inquiry, problem-solving, and project-based learning. At Delta, students are brought together from a variety of backgrounds to create one collaborative community. The faculty is dedicated to creating a highly-personalized, open, and trusting learning environment for all students and their families. Students at Delta are supported by teachers, advisors, and mentors that will network them into the local STEM community and beyond. Students living in the Kennewick School District must provide their own transportation to the school located in Pasco.

    APPLICATION PROCESS

    Students start their Delta experience as ninth-graders (freshmen). During December through February of each year, Delta accepts applications for the next school year's incoming ninth-grade students. Enrollment is limited by each school district at Delta to maintain a small school environment. If there are more applicants than spaces available, the school conducts a lottery process.

Skills-Based Learning

    Tri-Tech Website

    Tri-Tech partners with Mid-Columbia area high school sto offer advanced technical and professional training. This tuition-free training is available to all area public, private and home-schooled students age 16-20 who have yet to receive a high school diploma.

    Our goal at Tri-Tech is successful job placement or continuing education for all of our students. Tri-Tech Skill Center is based on the following concepts:

Special Education

  • Kennewick School District offers the Community & Employment Transition (CET) program as an option after the comprehensive high school experience that provides transition services for students/young adults receiving special education services between the ages of 18-21 years old. These services align with the student’s age-appropriate transition assessment, post-secondary goals, and course of study outlined in their IEP. CET’s primary mission is to assist participants obtain job internships and career exploration.
